We are often asked the difference between Veneers and All Porcelain Crowns.
Both can change the color, shape, rotation, alignment and major aesthetics of teeth. Veneers require some minor alteration of the teeth structure and shape to get the desired results and are about .5 to 1.0 mm. Finally, when teeth are not structurally sound, such as have large or multiple fillings or an existing crown, then an All Ceramic Crown is required and they are 1.0 to 2.0 mm thick, however much tooth structure is removed in the process. Both can produce the desired cosmetic change you may desire.
Your dentist will discuss the best restoration with you at your exam appointment.
